Knot Garden This piece arose from a fascination with the knot gardens and parterres of early garden design. The starting point was the octagonal stitch at the centre. From that a variety of little paths and beds radiate out. A range of variegated threads, chainettes, cottons, and many different canvaswork stitches found uses in this design. It is noticeable that the threads did not always cover the canvas entirely, and this notion was further explored in the Abstract Garden. |
