The Cat Who Walked By Himself I originally designed this as a piece of counted cross stitch in the series "Inspired By Clarice Cliff" for DevaStitch Designs. It then seemed that the large, simple shapes gave a perfect opportunity to play with different canvaswork stitches. Sure enough, I have a lot of fun with this piece, contrasting a variety of geometric patterns in the trees with linen stitch for the path and satin stitch for the cat, who shows his independence by walking beside the path and not on it. |
